Playing, Working, Crafting, Traveling

Hello to all my prim blogging friends. It's been a while since my last post. Time goes by so quickly and now that I'm working again, I'm having to adjust to a whole new schedule and trying to find time to do the things I used to do. Not too much on the side of crafting but I do have a couple of things to share with you that I made that I'll share in just a minute.

For Christopher's birthday, we took him to a Maine Red Claws basketball game. That's the developemental team for the Boston Celtics. We had a great time and the bonus is that it's very affordable to go. Last year my sweetie took Christopher to a Celtics game but we can't all afford to go, so this was a special treat for the whole family.

Check out how tall this guy is! His name is Alexis Ajinca, he a player for the Red Claws but he couldn't play because his hand was all taped up. He's 7 feet tall!

The Red Claws won 80 to 76 so it was a very exciting game.

This player, Anthony Terrell, was a hoot! The kids were a little freaked out by him at first because he'd stare them down. After he got their attention, he'd smile and point to me so they could get my attention to take a picture of him. After several failed attempts, I finally got a good one. He really connected with the kids, all of us really, and made the game extra special.

I stopped in at our local GW while grocery shopping on Saturday and found some little treasures. I picked up this bread box which I took a picture after sanding it and getting it ready for a makeover. It had a couple of sunflowers stenciled on it but I forgot to take a real "before" picture.

I'll post the finished picture when I finish it. I think I'm going to go with New England Red. What do you think? I'm open to suggestions.

I also picked up a bag of wool felt and some nice calico and homespun fabric for only $1.99 but I didn't get a picture of that.

On Thursday (my only day off) some friends came over and we all made gameboards. I wish I had taken pictures of all of us but in all the chatting and crafting, I didn't even think about taking out my camera. Oh well, I have the memories of a fun day shared with friends. Here's pictures of the game boards I made that day.

Next weekend we're going to be driving to Ohio to visit Bowling Green State University. That is one of the colleges Christopher has been accepted to so we're off to check out the campus. We're planning a quick vist because Daryl doesn't want to miss too much work (neither do I) but, I'd love to do some shopping on our travels. I'd especially love to go to Pennsylvania and visit an Amish community but I doubt that my sweetie will be willing to do that. We'll see.... How do you butter up a work-a-holic?
Well, I guess that's all for today. I'll try to do better at visiting everyone's blogs and seeing what you're all up to. I really miss not having my crafting and blogging time. I'm very grateful to have this job though so I'm not complaining. Take care, stay warm and be blessed! Hugs~ Birgit
