I need help! There are many wonderful blogs that I visit and want to leave a comment on, but what ever is different about the type of setup that is used, I'm unable to leave a comment and I don't know why. I've tried changing my setup to "allow pop ups from this site" but that doesn't change it. It seems that when the comment section is made up like the one below, I can't post a comment. Can anyone help me with this?

Then when I click on the Post Comment button another box comes up with the "verification word" and then click finish. It just goes back to my original comment and doesn't do anything. I can't even click on the preview button.
I know I'm not very computer saavy, but this seems to me that it should be basic enough for me to "get it" but I don't. :) Thanks for any words of advice you can offer. ~ Blessings~ Birgit
Hi friends~ I just thought I'd share with you a little tutorial on altering some old bottles. This idea came from Judy over at The Cinnamon Stick. She offered a class that I would have loved to attend, but since she's in PA and I'm here in Maine, it just didn't work out. :)
All you need are some old bottles, scrapbooking paper, vintage seed pack images, modge podge, distressing ink (optional), letters of differenty types and some embellishments.

Cut your scrapbooking papers to fit each bottle individually and adhere it to the bottles with your modge podge.

Allow the glue to dry and distress with your ink, if you choose. Since I like everything to look old, I distress everything.

Next, add your letters and embellishments. I did two sets of bottles, one I'm going to send to a friend. Some of the embellishments I used were, buttons, fancy yarns or ribbons, postage stamps and silk flowers.

Wouldn't they be cute sitting on a window sill with a single gerbera daisy or zinnia sticking out of them?
I hope you liked today's tutorial and I do hope you'll give on a try. They worked up very quickly and make a fun little spring gardening gift for your favorite green thumb. Have a blessed day! ~ Birgit
Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you a couple of projects I did using some beeswax that I found at a local thrift shop. Yes, I found two 5 pound blocks of beeswax at a thrift store!
I couldn't wait to get home and start melting it down wondering what I was going to use it for. I darkened the wax with some candle oil and scented it with honey and cloves. It smells so yummy! Here's what I came up with. If you're interested in purchasing any of these, you can send me an e-mail and I'll get back to you with a cost for shipping to your address. You can display them or cut them up for use in your tart melter.

These are plain and simple beexwax bars that I spiced up and wrapped in some scripture paper and tied with twine. I made little tags for a finishing touch. These are $4.95 each plus shipping.

Next up is this cute heart shaped beeswax cake. I found this adorable little tin while thrift shopping as well and knew right away what I was going to use it for. After spicing up the wax cake, I tied it with a strip of grungy cheesecloth and some sweet annie. I made another little tag to finish it up. This is $9.95 plus shipping.

Finally, I made a whole bowl full of little beeswax pantry cakes. They look so prim in this old wooden bowl. These come just as they are, plain and simple, just like me. These are $3.95 each plus shipping.

Also, I found this great tutorial on how to print directly onto fabric. I was so nervous to try it as I was afraid I was going to break my printer but it worked amazingly well! Be sure to stain your fabric first if you want it stained as the ink will run if you try to stain them after printing. I learned from experience!
I enjoy using vintage images in my crafting and found these great bulb images to use on these pillows I made.

Here's some vintage seed pack images for you to use in your crafting. If you use them, please link back to me, I'd love to see what you've made!

You can see the results from my last project on my header picture. I used some of Yankee Lane Primitives wonderful labels and added them to some crocks I had. I just love how they came out! Don't you?
Lastly, I'm working up to my very first giveaway so be sure to check back soon for details! I hope you all have a blessed week.
Hugs~ Birgit
